THE AUGUST JOURNAL

Hello my gorgeous clients!

WELCOME to my NEW monthly newsletter! This is going to be a space where I can keep in touch and share some behind the scenes at Spirit Rituals!

I also want it to be a space where we can connect on a deeper level. A space where I can ponder with you about what I'm doing in my business, share big plans and idea's I have and also share insights and the BEST tips for supporting your skin health, whole body health, spiritual health and overall well-being..

This blog is going to be a little bit of everything I'm passionate about, so grab a cup of tea and settle in.

In July, I massively stepped out of my comfort zone and did my first talk about MYSELF and my business for my networking community Women Who Business.

I was SO nervous but I was asked to facilitate it beacuse the theme for the month was 'Say YES to Rest' - which is apparently quite fitting for my business!

I chose to talk about the reason WHY I started Spirit Rituals in the first place, to save myself from burnout and to try to support other women find a place of peace while they are going through something similar.

You can read my blog about what I spoke about below...

August Skin Tips

The summers in England are getting HOT! and staying hot... This can cause changes in our skin that we were maybe, not prepared for, or maybe, changes in our skin we haven't seen before.

I know my skin has been struggling with little pimples from SPF and sweating.

So, how can we combat any negative changes?

Our skins often need LESS when temperatures soar.

  1. Skin might already be irritated or sensitive from increased sweating on areas of the face, so go easy with actives like vitamin C and retinoids, maybe strip it back slightly or only apply in the evening when it is cooler and you are less likely to sweat.

  1. Don't overload your skin - does your skin need a serum, then moisturiser, THEN SPF? maybe replace your moisturiser in the morning just with SPF. This is particularly great for acne prone clients or clients with oiler skin.

  1. If you are acne prone, try a hypochlorous acid spritz for times you know you will sweat but you can't access anywhere to wash your face straight away, at the gym, for example. Hypochlorous acid will neutralise bacteria from sweat and hands touching your face and help prevent spot formation from beginning. Don't overuse it though, just spritz once at times you're not able to wash your face. The one below from boots is my go to.

Hope you find these tips helpful x

Behind the Scenes at Spirit Rituals

I am thrilled that my Bespoke Facials are now fully fledged and I have some wonderful clients working with me to support their skin health journey. Skin is something I am extremely passionate about and is definitely the direction I see my business growing in. I am busy behind the scenes learning the in's and outs of my new skincare brand Dermaviduals, but also how I can blend this science-led natural brand with herbal elements to create power-house facials for you.

I work within the framework of corneotherapy, an approach to skin health that focuses on repairing and protecting the skin barrier rather than simply treating symptoms. By supporting your skin's natural function, we can create lasting, healthy results that are tailored to your unique skin.

Journal Prompts for August

August arrives with a noticeable shift in energy. The first half of the month invites us to embrace confidence, creativity and joy, while the second half gently encourages us to slow down, simplify and reconnect with our daily wellbeing.

August offers an opportunity to ask: "How do I want to feel as we move towards autumn?"

The Sun remains in Leo for most of the month, bringing warmth, courage and a reminder not to hide ourselves away.

"Where in my life am I ready to shine a little brighter?"

"What has blossomed in my life over the past few months?"

"Where have I surprised myself this summer?"

"What brings me genuine joy, and how can I make more space for it?"

"Which habits are supporting my wellbeing, and which are draining my energy?"

Thank you so much for reading and connecting angels,

Love,

               Hannah x
