THE SEPTEMBER JOURNAL

Hello my gorgeous clients!
I am writing this on a Sunday afternoon in late August, thunder claps in the distance and rain pours down on the window panes. I've lit a candle I had as a leaving gift from my old job. I feel so cosy and ready for the change in seasons. Do you? Or are you hanging strongly onto the last throws of the summer warmth?
Autumn has always been one of my favourite seasons, I always look forward to it. I've always relished the crisp mornings, the dew and sun fighting through the fog on early mornings outdoors in warm jumpers and steam rising from tea cups. Crunchy leaves under boots and warm beds and rugs awaiting at home.
I cannot wait for the heated blanket to return to the treatment room, cosy lighting, candles and fluffy duvets for you to dive under and melt away while I work some magic for you.
Yes, I am SO ready!

Over the summer I have been studying the skin in more depth as I am fascinated and want to continue growing, learning and bringing you the very best knowledge! As many of you know, I have had my own skin troubles over that last few years and this has taken me on a long journey of research into skin, health, gut health and anti-inflammatory diets to support symptoms and ultimately, my skin. All this research, and trying many, many products that didn't work for me, lead me to discover the practice of 'Corneotherapy' and the corneotherapeutic skincare brand 'Dermaviduals'.
Why have I decided to bring Dermaviduals into the treatment room?
I want to do more bespoke facials. This is my main interest and passion. I'll still be keeping massage and the holistic elements but I love working with the skin and I want to help my clients transform their skin with the cleanest products on the market.
The Dermaviduals approach is based on corneotherapeutic principles, which focus on maintaining and supporting the health of the skin barrier. Dermaviduals products are formulated to mimic the structure of the skin and are formulated without fragrance, harsh chemicals, and preservatives. This makes the approach particularly suited to personalised skincare for women with sensitive, reactive or compromised skin.
The modular system of Dermaviduals enables therapists to bespokely blend custom creams and serums during treatments, but also fos clients to take and use at home to truly transform the skin.
But I like you because you use natural and organic....
I am still keeping my holistic facials for now. But as I learn more about the skin I have discovered that sometimes you can only get so far with natural ingredients. It's never just been about natural for me, it's been about clean skincare and I've always wanted to learn how to blend the very best from the natural world and what we have learned through science to support the skin in the best way possible.
This doesn't mean I have chosen a brand that uses synthetic ingredients. Far from it. Dermaviduals products ARE NATURAL, and they use the highest quality ingredients, they may have just been scientifically modified so that the skin can recognise them and use the ingredient in it's most potent form, in the most beneifical way for the skin's functioning.
Very clever really. If you have any questions, you can book a free 30min Skin Chat below. I'd love to talk your ear off about all this!

September Skin Tips
As the seasons change we need to be aware of how the environment outside and indoors may affect our skin.
As we lean into Autumn our skin will be exposed to a cooling climate, and being in England, this certainly means harsh, cold winds, rain and drying central heating. With this shift we may find ourselves reaching for richer creams and oils to nourish and protect the skin.
When searching for creams make sure you search for one tailored for your skin type. But also look for creams rich in lipids and ceramides to protect and replenish oils lost in the skin to the elements. These ingredients also help to keep the skin calm and happier.
My personal recommendation and the cream I will be stocking up on for Autumn is Dermaviduals DMS High Classic Moisturiser. It has derma-membrane structured lamellar lipids (the lipids are structured in the same way your skin structures them, so that they are compatible and instantly recognisable by the skin), ceramides, phospholipids and it is rich in vitamins.
All the Dermaviduals skincare range is available to buy from me when clients have had their first bespoke skin treatment and I have completed a skin consultation with them.

Journal Prompts for September
September feels like a month of resetting, refining and finding balance. After the intensity of August's eclipse season, September begins to offer a slower pace and a little more space to process what has shifted and decide what you actually want to take forward with you.
As the nights begin to draw in and the summer's fire begins to dwindle slighty we are called to start looking inward. It is a time to reflect on all we have acheived during the roaring summer months and Leo season and decide what we are able to take forward into Autumn where we will naturally take things slower and with less firey energy.

We begin September in Virgo and with this we are asked to slow down and simplify...
"How can I create more moments of slowness in my everyday life?"
"What do I want to carry with me into autumn?"
"What am I noticing about myself as summer comes to an end?"
"What would make the next few months feel softer?"
"I am ready to let go of…"
"This season, I am learning…"
"If I stopped rushing, I might notice…"

Thank you so much for reading and connecting angels,
Love,
Hannah x
